Day 112

Today marks exactly 9 months since Craigs DX...

Sometimes it seems like we have been dealing with it so much longer than that!

Here he was 9 months ago...We really didnt know how sick he truly was... Looking at this picture he looks so frail.. We werent aware that he had lost weight, mostly because all of our kids are just skinny kids! I remember looking at him in the hospital that night  and thinking "wow, he looks so skinny and sick"

Why had I not noticed sooner?  Its just crazy...

Now he is so much better..He actually gained weight back just in the first few months after dx.  He is a very healthy kid, active and looking good! Getting taller too (which he is super happy about since he starts High School next year!!)

Diabetes is such a crazy disease.. It completely blindsided us 9 months ago.. no family history of the disease..we knew absolutely nothing....

And just 9 months later, its our every day life with 2 of the kids! I never would have imagined!

One thing about this disease that I am glad about is that my kids can completely go on with their lives..

Yes, its an every day, every minute disease.. but with preparation, they can do all they want in life..
They can run and play, they can jump and swim, they can have cake and eat it too!!
They can DO ANYTHING...and for that, I am very grateful!
