Craig and Madi are siblings who both have Type 1 diabetes. They were both diagnosed in 2012 and with in 4 months of each other. Craig (16) and Madi (7) are awesome kids and here you will see the everyday things that come with Type 1. There is no cure for type 1 diabetes. Thank you so much for reading!!

Day 119

What's it take???

For a 4 year old to check her glucose just 1 time...
 Wash hands..already done:)

Get the meter out
Get 1 strip out..



Put the strip in the meter..

Grab the lancet..and pull the trigger back..
Poke your finger by pressing the button...


Squeeze your finger to get enough blood out...
sometimes this takes a little work...
awe.. my sweet girl..I know its no fun...

1 drop of blood...

 
Collect blood on the meter test strip...



A little maneuvering..you dont want to miss and have to start over (this does happen!!)
And viola! here you go...

Repeat several times a day.....

I Love my brave girl!!!

    Ah yes.... I hate when i get that stinkin error message and have to get another strip (wasting those kills me they are so expensive) and start all over. With time you get pro status. I can now test while driving a clutch on the freeway :) Don't share that with Hain - I'm sure it's not legal hahaha.
